The planning of the new residential area on the former Agrocenter site in Mersch includes the creation of a P&R parking lot with around 400 parking spaces (start date 06/2023) along the railway line. With regard to the work, the modernisation of the passenger infrastructure at Mersch station will be carried out in order to:
- comply with the requirements of the technical specifications for interoperability,
- adapt the infrastructure to the accessibility criterias for people with reduced mobility,
- respond to the development of future passenger flows,
- adapt the track plan to the new requirements of railway safety,
- redesign the station, the bus station and the car parks to create a more attractive transfer platform.
