Passenger information is changing

CFL changes railway information to passenger information

A successful journey requires clear and reliable information on all communication channels.

Through various satisfaction surveys in 2022, many of you expressed the need for simplified travel information. We had to review our homework. Find here a brief summary how the information about your train, your section, your journey will now be presented.

A new name for the railway lines

“I identify my train by the departure time and destination, not by the line number.”

83% of customers do not know their line number. No more line numbers, a new designation highlights the departure, the terminus, the transfer hubs and the last stop in Luxembourg before the border.

Examples:

  • Line 10 becomes the “Luxembourg – Ettelbruck – Troisvierges – Gouvy” line
  • Line 60 becomes the “Luxembourg – Esch/Alzette – Rodange” line

Informative content reviewed on the platforms and in stations

On the displays on the platforms and in the stations, the destination, departure time and stops served are highlighted once again. For better readability, the colors have been adjusted.

In the future, displays will show train composition. It will be easier to identify areas such as first class, disabled and cycling entrances. The direction of traffic and the occupancy rate of the train carriages will also be indicated.

A full colour network map

For inclusive train travel, the colours of the railway lines have been adjusted for better readability.
