Strengthening of the P.Ø Scandex and CFL multimodal partnership
P.Ø Scandex is expanding its multimodal transport offering on the France-Benelux-Scandinavia route by increasing its commitment to CFL multimodal trains.
From May 2019, P.Ø Scandex uses the Lyon - Bettembourg connection on a daily basis as well as the connections to Ghent and Zeebrugge. P.Ø Scandex and CFL multimodal also reinforce their partnership, started in 2016, by a joint organization of first and last miles to/from the intermodal terminals in Lyon and Bettembourg.
The aim of P.Ø Scandex and CFL multimodal is to increase the flexibility and speed of road transport to/from the terminals and to gain new markets from the Rhône-Alpes region to Northern Europe and in particular to Germany. A second pillar of the collaboration is the promotion of the railway connection between Luxembourg (Bettembourg - Dudelange) and China (Chengdu). The objective of CFL multimodal is to start a weekly rotation from mid-2019 and a comprehensive door-to-door logistics offer to train customers.
P.Ø Scandex and CFL multimodal are convinced that this cooperation, which focuses on the quality of intermodal door-to-door delivery, will enable them to attract new industrial customers on trains.
