Planning a journey today often means navigating multiple apps and websites, piecing together schedules for trains, buses, and car-sharing. As part of the EU-funded FP1 MOTIONAL project, HACON and CFL have partnered to contribute to a common Mobility as a Service platform that combines data from different mobility actors in order to offer a unique door-to-door mobility experience. To show that this vision can be reality, an example of such a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform will be demonstrated on 10th February 2026 in Luxembourg.

Still today, Europe faces a fragmented travel landscape. For too long, different modes of transport have operated in silos, thus creating complexity for travelers and operational inefficiencies for service providers. To foster truly sustainable mobility, building bridges between these services is a necessity. The demonstration on 10th Febuary 2026 aims to prove that a unified system is not only possible but also highly effective.

What characterizes our solution:

Seamless Integration with the Open Journey Planning (OJP 2.0) interface. This standardized protocol allows to communicate seamlessly with different mobility platforms. During the demo, showcasing the integration of CFL’s railway services with CFL Park & Ride, FLEX car-sharing, and cross-border journey data is planned.

Advanced Analytics for Operators: Beyond passenger convenience, the platform provides powerful tools for mobility providers through analytics dashboards that offer short- and long-term demand forecasting. This allows operators  to analyze service usage, identify areas for improvement, and plan more effectively based on data-driven insights.

Real-Time Information for Travelers: A smooth journey requires accurate, real-time information. The platform is designed to manage real-time data and deliver disruption alerts directly to travelers, improving the travel experience by managing expectations and providing alternative routes when needed.
