LuxID: a strategic alliance at the service of data protection
LuxID was founded on 13 July 2023 as the result of a strategic alliance between Cactus, the CFL, POST Luxembourg and RTL Luxembourg, acting together as a "Groupement d'Intérêt Économique" (GIE) in the spirit of digitalisation.

LuxID is at the centre of the online authentication revolution and offers a standardised, innovative and secure solution for digital identity. It is "made and stored in Luxembourg" and independent of the authentication methods of certain social platforms. The company's core principles are security, data protection and user-friendliness. LuxID takes on the giants of social media and fulfils the authentication requirements of businesses of different sizes. The solution ensures data management that complies with European data protection regulations, strengthening the company's position as a cornerstone of the digital transformation in Luxembourg.
The new CFL P+R app was used by the CFL as the first concrete use case for LuxID. In a second step, the CFL intend to combine LuxID with other services.
