After a pilot project concluded, that was launched in December 2017, on line 70 (Luxembourg - Rodange - Athus - Longwy) and on line 60 (Luxembourg - Esch / Alzette - Rodange - Athus), the AURIS project will be extend to all stations and stops of the national rail network.
Via displays or/and sound announcements, travelers are informed at station platforms and CFL stops in real time and automatically, on departures and arrivals of trains, as well as delays and possible platform changes. To generate these messages and announcements, AURIS automatically draws reliable information from the computerised system ARAMIS (find more information here).
Sound announcements are generated automatically by speech synthesis. In other words, any disruption can be encoded, in the form of written text, to be then converted into a voice announcement, where the customers are located. The text-to-speech system guarantees a uniform sound and good intelligibility of the announcements for customers.
In stations, on platforms, the new display technology guarantees good readability in all light conditions. This allows for the most complete and accurate information. The content as well as its displayed location are adapted to the flow of passengers.
