CFL cactus shoppi

Development and operation of retail space in railway stations and stops managed by the CFL.

CFL cactus shoppi is a subsidiary of the CFL Group created in 2022 in partnership with the Luxembourg supermarket group Cactus. It is 51% owned by the CFL Group.

The process

CFL cactus shoppi's mission is to create and manage convenience stores in the major stations and railway stops on the Luxembourg rail network.

The creation of the subsidiary is part of the CFL group's strategy, which is driven by a desire to continually improve the quality of service provided to clients, including their "station experience".
CFL cactus shoppi is part of the "Station of Tomorrow" concept, developed by taking into account the needs expressed by surveyed clients.

Among the needs expressed by customers were a range of "food to go" services and related services (service corners, goods collection, bookshop, vending machines, friendly café or bistro).

In response, the CFL aims to transform stations into places of destination, like village squares, by structurally developing a range of services that complement mobility solutions.
The general commercial concept of CFL cactus shoppi is based on four pillars:

• An offer differentiated according to consumer profiles around railway stations/stops,
• A focus on quality, sustainability and customer service,
• Setting up shops that meet the needs identified by customers in a survey,
• Entrepreneurial spirit: the possibility of "trying out" new businesses.

The first major creation of CFL cactus shoppi was at Luxembourg Station, the heart of mobility in Luxembourg. To meet the needs of the 90,000 customers who pass through the station every day, as well as the many visitors and local residents, a convenience store opened its doors on 10 May 2023, creating several new jobs.
Open 7 days a week, this 134 m² convenience store offers a range of fresh food and everyday products.
Customers can choose from a range of local, regional and international products:

• Bakery/Viennoiserie/Pastry,
• Fruit and vegetables (seasonal products),
• Impulse / Chocolates / Chips,
• Fresh drinks,

• Press, tobacco & lottery.

The CFL cactus shoppi at Luxembourg Station is open Monday to Friday from 5.30am to 9.30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 9.30pm.
