NEG Niebüll

In addition to its freight subsidiaries in France and Sweden, the CFL Group also owns 25,1% of a passenger rail company in northern Germany. Previously wholly owned by the CFL Group, the latter has been cooperating since 1 January 2022 with the RDC Group (Railroad Development Corporation), which has since held the majority shares in this subsidiary.

The Norddeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft Niebüll GmbH, neg, employs 72 people, including 2 apprentices.

Until 2025 and under a contract with the State Schleswig-Holstein, the subsidiary operates the 30 kilometers long Niebüll - Dagebüll train line, close to the North Sea.

The NEG lines were renovated in 2007. Since then, the number of passengers between Niebüll and Dagebüll has increased by 25% and reached 330,000 in 2019. Many holidaymakers take advantage of the rail transport to reach the Föhr Islands ferry and Amrum, not far from Niebüll.

Managing the operations of the Neumünster shunting yard, in November 2006 neg entrusted the carriage of goods in Germany to the sister company CFL cargo Germany.
